Retiring to Sumner, Christchurch was the dream of our Central Otago clients.

Built in 1978, they had owned the house for some time as a rental but needed to modernise and update it; we suggested a harmonious blend of 1970’s chic with modern living spaces.

The exterior was reclad in a combination of plaster with western red cedar, whilst the character of Rimu beams and ceilings were retained and a contemporary open plan kitchen, dining and living extension were added, creating a spacious and welcoming for visitors and grandchildren.

The entrance foyer has been expanded and an adjacent area closed off to create the master bedroom, with the former kitchen converted into a downstairs office.
